My "Handsome Genius Son" John figured it out.........

I gave three "wine bottle holder thingies" for Christmas presents, but didn't give anyone any instructions. I just put the block of wood in a bag with a bottle of wine. I didn't get to be with John when he discovered the "secret", but he sent me a picture. It really was a cool gift. It is just amazing what you can find at craft shows.

Grandpa Bob had treasures among his trash....

When I was cleaning out Grandpa Bob's apartment, I found a collection of old photographs from the late 1800's. They were all labeled and marked on the back by the photographer.

We took them to the photography curator at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.

He had never seen most of the images before,...and needless to say, he enjoyed looking at them.

We didn't quite make it before the 12 days of Christmas ended, but Friday night we finally had our "posponed because of snow" office Christmas party!

We also had a cake and present for Dr. Sorokin who turned 80 in December!

We had our usual rowdy time at our Yankee Present Swap!

The "pool sharks" in our office ended the night with a game.

Hortense just doesn't like Jake, and Jake could care less.

Both cats covet the radiator when the heat is on. Hortense got it first, but Jake thought he might like to have a turn.

All he has to do is stare at her, and she gets all bent out of shape.

Jake is not the least bit intimidated by her hissing.

She finally couldn't take it any more and gave up her spot.
