After many, many years, we finally put shutters back on our house!

A young healthy apple tree blew over in a bad thunderstorm last weekend.

Peter recruited Andy and Robert who knew just what to do....

They padded the tree.....

and tied ropes to some piece of equipment on Andy's truck...

Once they had the tree upright, they braced it really well.

Peter says this tree should be fine; and as you can see, Andy and Robert are very proud of their work.

We have new neighbors!.........

Cindy and Bill adopted two five-week-old female kittens....

Bailey....

and Gracie.....

Jake does not like this heat.....and won't go outside.

...but he hasn't figured out that his favorite place on top of the refrigerator is not the coolest spot in the house.

Linda, Dara and I went to Chincoteague Island where the "wild ponies" are.

But this was about as close as we got to them.......

We climbed up to the top of Assateague Light House

We took a boat out to Tangier Island....13 miles out to sea.

It was very quaint.......

But on the boat ride back.......we ran into a horrible storm.

Linda and I went for a long walk on the beach, but the black flies relentless...you could not stand still for one second.

...just some of the wild life we encountered.

Dara was trying to eat her sandwich, and this cat was determined to have a bite...

...and my least favorite site during the whole weekend.
