I absolutely love this picture. I have probably never told you but I have a 'thing' for laundry hanging on the line. Wherever we visit, I love to take pictures of laundry swinging in the breeze. When we were in Jamaica, I had the bus driver all trained so that he would stop when he saw the clothes--sometimes even before I would see it. It was so funny. I have pictures of laundry from almost every place that we have been. Some day I want to print them and put them all together. Now you know more about me than you wanted to know. . . .--joanne

The effort/time involved in hanging laundry makes me really appreciate the dryer. Green is good for the body too.

Have you ever hung clothes outdoors when the temperature was close to freezing? The clothes dry stiffened with moisture, carried in standing in the laundry basket. They're a little damp after thawing, perfect for ironing. Hanging clothes also implies handwash. In the old days, my mother set up 3 tubs in the backyard. She washed in the first and I rinsed in the other 2. Those were the "good old days."
